LifeFit compatibility

Dating compatibility should be about real life.

More than shared hobbies. More than attraction. More than a score.

LifeFit is the MatedSouls approach to compatibility for dating over 50. It looks at the life you already have, the relationship you actually want and the future you hope to build.

We are not trying to prove that two people are destined for one another. LifeFit simply helps identify where your lives appear naturally aligned, where you are both flexible and what may be worth talking about.

Why LifeFit exists

Chemistry can be real even when two lives do not fit.

Dating can often focus on photographs, hobbies and whether two people enjoy the same restaurants or holidays. Those things can help start a conversation, but they do not necessarily tell you whether a relationship will fit comfortably into real life.

Dating after 50 can involve established homes, adult children, grandchildren, careers, retirement plans, friendships, pets, caring responsibilities and routines that already matter.

LifeFit is designed around those realities.

The five areas

Five parts of life that can shape a relationship.

LifeFit does not ask hundreds of abstract personality questions. It concentrates on practical areas that can make a meaningful difference when two established lives come together.

01

Roots

Could your lives work geographically?

Where you live matters. LifeFit considers realistic travelling distance, how settled you are, whether relocation could ever be an option and what living arrangements might suit you later.

LifeFit may explore

  • How far would you realistically travel to see a partner?
  • Would you consider relocating for the right relationship?
  • Would you eventually want to share a home?
02

Rhythm

Would everyday life feel comfortable together?

Compatibility is not only about interests. LifeFit looks at the pace of your life, how social you are, how much independence you value and how often you would ideally spend time together.

LifeFit may explore

  • How often would you ideally see a partner?
  • Do you prefer spontaneous plans or planning ahead?
  • What pace of life feels most natural to you?
03

Relationship

Are you looking for the same kind of relationship?

Two people can really like one another and still want very different things. LifeFit considers commitment, exclusivity, independence, communication and how you prefer relationships to develop.

LifeFit may explore

  • What are you genuinely hoping to find?
  • How much independence do you value?
  • Would you consider marriage in the future?
04

Family

How does family fit into the relationship?

By the time we reach our 50s and beyond, family can already be an important part of life. LifeFit looks at expectations around children, grandchildren, family time and caring responsibilities without unnecessarily exposing private details.

LifeFit may explore

  • How involved is family in your everyday life?
  • How involved would you like a future partner to become?
  • How important are family occasions and traditions?
05

Future

Are you heading towards compatible futures?

LifeFit considers what you want from the years ahead: work, retirement, travel, home life, independence and whether you imagine building a very shared life or retaining more space of your own.

LifeFit may explore

  • How do you imagine the next five to ten years?
  • How important is travel to your future?
  • What kind of shared life would feel right?

Your priorities

Not every difference matters equally.

One of the most important parts of LifeFit is that you tell us how much something actually matters to you.

01

Must match

This genuinely matters to me.

02

Important

I would strongly prefer alignment here.

03

Flexible

A difference would usually be fine.

04

Doesn’t matter

This should not influence my introductions.

Your Essentials

A preference is not the same as a deal-breaker.

MatedSouls lets members identify a small number of genuine Essentials: things that really would prevent a relationship from working.

That could include distance, smoking, relationship intention or another issue that genuinely matters to that person.

A simple rule

LifeFit never overrides something you have told us is genuinely essential.

A strong fit everywhere else does not make a real deal-breaker disappear. The matching system respects the priorities members have told us genuinely matter.

Compatibility, not cloning

Two people do not need to be the same.

Similarity and compatibility are not the same thing. LifeFit considers whether a difference actually matters to either person before treating it as a problem.

01

Excellent

Your answers and priorities appear strongly compatible in this area.

02

Strong

There is plenty of alignment, with no obvious concern in the things that matter most.

03

Flexible difference

Your answers differ, but both of you have indicated that the difference is unlikely to be important.

04

Worth discussing

There is a meaningful difference, but not necessarily a reason to rule one another out.

No fake precision

We do not tell you that somebody is your 93.7% perfect match.

Relationships are not that simple. MatedSouls may use numerical scoring internally to rank suitable introductions, but members see understandable descriptions such as Excellent potential, Strong or Worth discussing.

The useful question is not “What percentage are we?”
It is “Why might our lives work well together?”

Privacy by design

Your private answers do not become someone else's profile.

LifeFit needs honest answers to be useful. That means members should not have to worry that every private answer will automatically be published.

Instead, another member may see a safe explanation such as “Your expectations around family life appear compatible” rather than the private information used to reach that conclusion.

Compatibility can be useful without becoming intrusive.
