These Terms apply when you create an account for or use the MatedSouls dating service. By agreeing to these Terms, you agree to follow the rules set out below.

MatedSouls.co.uk is operated by Auction My Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17473925. References in these Terms to "we", "us" and "our" mean Auction My Limited as the operator of MatedSouls.

Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

MatedSouls is designed to help people aged 50 and over in the United Kingdom make thoughtful introductions based on real-life compatibility.

Our Privacy Notice explains how personal information is handled. Privacy consent, where required, is separate from agreeing to these Terms.

Your profile should represent you truthfully. You must not deliberately misrepresent important information about your identity, age, relationship intentions or circumstances in a way that is likely to mislead another member.

You are responsible for deciding what information you choose to share with other members. Do not place sensitive information such as your home address, financial details, passwords or security credentials in your public profile.

Some information is kept privately by MatedSouls for account, matching, safety or operational purposes and is not intended to appear on your member-facing profile.

Members can report concerning behaviour from an established connection and can block other members. You must not attempt to circumvent another member's block or use another account or route of contact to defeat a block.

Reports may concern inappropriate messages, suspected scams or suspicious behaviour, harassment, a false profile, a safety concern or other concerning behaviour. Reports should be made in good faith and with as much relevant information as you can reasonably provide.

We may investigate reports, review relevant account or communication information and take proportionate action where we reasonably believe this is necessary to protect members, enforce these Terms, address potentially unlawful content or behaviour, or comply with our legal obligations.

Safety and moderation information is handled privately. Protecting another member's privacy or safety may mean that we cannot tell you every detail of an investigation, the evidence considered or action taken.

Deliberately making malicious or knowingly false reports may itself breach these Terms.

Online dating can involve risks that no platform can remove completely. Members should use reasonable care when sharing information, communicating and deciding whether to meet somebody in person. MatedSouls reporting tools are not an emergency service; if somebody is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services.

You remain responsible for photos, profile text and other material you submit to MatedSouls. You should only upload material that you have the right to use.

By submitting content, you give MatedSouls a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, resize, process, moderate and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and provide the service.

That licence is not intended to transfer ownership of your content to MatedSouls. It will normally end when the content or account is deleted, except where limited retention is reasonably necessary for backups, safety investigations, dispute handling or legal obligations.

We may refuse, restrict or remove content that breaches these Terms, creates a safety concern, infringes another person's rights or is otherwise unlawful.

LifeFit is designed to help MatedSouls understand areas of real-life compatibility such as Roots, Rhythm, Relationship, Family and Future.

Matching information may be used to determine whether members meet mutual eligibility criteria, assess possible compatibility and organise introductions.

Compatibility tools are an aid to introductions, not a scientific prediction. A match label, score, recommendation or introduction does not guarantee compatibility, attraction, a meeting or a successful relationship.

MatedSouls may choose not to introduce two members even where some preferences align, including where eligibility, safety, availability or other relevant considerations make an introduction inappropriate.

Messaging and NextStep are intended to help members communicate and decide privately whether they would like a connection to progress.

You must use communications respectfully and comply with the conduct rules in these Terms.

Where NextStep is used, an individual member's private choice is not disclosed merely because they made it. MatedSouls may instead reveal a progression result when compatible intentions are mutual.

A message, introduction or mutual NextStep result does not create any obligation to continue communicating, share contact details, speak by phone or video, meet in person or continue a relationship. Either member may decide not to continue.

MatedSouls may introduce identity, photo, age or other verification processes, including checks carried out by a specialist provider.

If verification is required for a feature or account status, you must provide genuine information and must not attempt to manipulate or circumvent the verification process.

A verification indicator means only that the stated verification process was completed to the standard described at the time. Unless we expressly say otherwise, it is not a criminal-record check, financial check or guarantee of a person's character, intentions or future behaviour.

We may investigate suspected breaches of these Terms, potentially unlawful content or behaviour, and safety or security concerns. We may take proportionate steps such as issuing a warning, removing content, limiting a feature, hiding a profile, suspending an account or closing an account.

Where reasonably appropriate, the action taken will reflect factors such as seriousness, risk, available evidence, repeat behaviour and the need to protect other members.

We may take urgent action without advance notice where we reasonably believe this is necessary because of an immediate safety risk, suspected serious illegality, fraud, security threat or other serious breach. Where lawful and appropriate, we may preserve relevant evidence or provide information to competent authorities.

Where appropriate and legally permitted, we aim to explain significant moderation decisions. If you want us to review a moderation decision or raise a concern about how a safety matter has been handled, you can contact member support or our safety team using the details at the end of these Terms.

We will consider genuine concerns fairly, but safety, privacy, legal restrictions or the rights of another person may limit the information we can provide about a report, investigation or moderation decision.

Under this version of the Terms, MatedSouls Founding Membership is free. Creating an account or using a Founding Membership does not by itself authorise MatedSouls to take payment from you.

If paid membership is introduced in the future, we will clearly show the price, what is included, the billing period, any renewal arrangements, how to cancel and any applicable consumer cancellation rights before you commit to payment.

A free Founding Membership will not automatically become a paid membership merely because MatedSouls later introduces a paid service. You would need to take the required positive step to choose the paid service on the terms presented at that time.

Any material paid-membership terms will be added to the applicable Terms and presented before paid membership begins.

We aim to provide a reliable service, but MatedSouls may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, security work, faults, third-party services or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may improve, replace, add or remove features as MatedSouls develops. We will not use this clause to remove rights that consumers have under applicable law.

If a change materially affects an active paid service in the future, we will consider the rights and remedies that apply at that time and provide appropriate information to affected members.

The MatedSouls name, site design, software, LifeFit framework, written material and other service content may be protected by intellectual-property rights.

Using MatedSouls does not give you ownership of those rights. You may use the service for your own personal dating purposes, but you must not reproduce, sell, commercially exploit or create an unauthorised copy of substantial parts of the service.

This does not affect the ownership rights you retain in content that you personally submit.

MatedSouls provides tools intended to help members meet and communicate. We cannot guarantee that you will receive a particular number of introductions, that another member will respond, that information supplied by another member will always be accurate or that a relationship will result.

Other members are responsible for their own actions. At the same time, MatedSouls will operate safety, reporting and moderation measures appropriate to the service and its legal obligations.

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill where the law requires that responsibility.

MatedSouls is intended for personal and consumer use. We are not responsible for business losses arising from somebody using a personal MatedSouls account for a business purpose.

You may stop using MatedSouls and request closure of your account using the account controls we provide or by contacting support where necessary.

Closing an account does not always mean that every record can be deleted immediately. Limited information may need to be retained where reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal obligations, disputes or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

How personal information is retained and deleted is explained further in our Privacy Notice.

MatedSouls will evolve, so these Terms may need to change.

If a change is material to existing members, we will provide appropriate notice and, where necessary, ask members to accept an updated version before continuing to use affected features. The updated date shown on this page will also be changed.

We will not rely on a general right to change these Terms in order to remove legal rights that already belong to you.

The final governing-law and court wording will be completed before public launch as part of the final legal review.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to take away any mandatory rights or protections you have as a consumer, including any mandatory rights concerning the law that applies or where you may bring a claim.
